Samsung Global Scholarship Program

Samsung Global Scholarship Program

The Samsung Global Scholarship Program (GSP), sometimes called the Samsung Genius Scholarship Program, is a study and work program of Samsung Electronics designed in view of Samsung to give the proper education, national and corporate cultural experience. One of the possible long-term aims of the program is to replace existing Korean higher management in Samsung Electronics affiliates with highly trained local managers who are also aware of the corporate and Korean culture.

The MBA study program

The MBA program is notable for its diversity and pioneer nature. It is built and ran together with MIT Sloan since its foundation, and one of several English language MBAs in Korea. (Others include KAIST, Korea University, Korea Development Institute and Sogang University.)

During the three semesters (a recent change from three semesters in Korea and one in the U.S.), students study in Korea with excellent professors recruited from around the world, with the financial help of the Samsung Foundation.

Visiting MIT Sloan professors hold the so called "intensive weeks" when participants study one course tailored to fit the narrow time frame. GSB professors in Sungkyunkwan University can also visit and teach at MIT Sloan within a faculty exchange.

The significance of the program can also be seen from the wide range of students who, as it was already in the first years, came from the leading companies including Cheil Communications, Amore Pacific, Woori Bank, POSCO, SK, Kyobo, Everland, Bosch, KTF and several Samsung subsidiaries.
