Spottle

Spottle

A spottle is a funnel-shaped object, usually made out of a bottle with the bottom either cut (in the case of plastic) or broken (glass) out used to inhale marijuana smoke when spotting.

As the practice of spotting releases hot smoke, many fledgling smokers prefer to use a spottle that cools the air before they inhale it (aka 'bitch spottle'). To do this the spottle may be filled with ice. Typically this will involve a plastic bottle with the bottom portion cut off. It is then reversed and re-inserted to hold the ice in. Small holes are punched in the base to allow the smoke to enter the ice compartment. Alternatively (with glass bottles) the spottle may simply be stored in a freezer to chill it.

A more complicated form of paraphernalia, involves the combining of a spottle and a water bong, such that after the smoke is collected in the funnel it is then filtrated through water before it is inhaled.
