David G. Willey is a physics professor at the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown in Johnstown, Pennsylvania. He earned a Bachelor's degree in Applied Physics from Aston University and a Certificate in Education from Birmingham University. In 1972 he obtained a Master's degree in Physics from Ohio State University.Besides teaching physics Willey has made numerous appearances on television shows such as The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Steve Harvey’s Big Time, and Talk Soup on the Comedy Channel.
In 1998 Willey and fourteen others took part in the "world's longest firewalk" in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania at 165 feet, and was aired on The Power of Belief with John Stossel, who also walked a shorter distance.[1]
In his appearance on Penn and Teller's Bullshit! episode about Self-help, he explained the simple physics behind fire-walking and walking on glass, amongst other things.
