- JRCALC
JRCALC is the Joint Royal Colleges Ambulance Liaison Committee. It is responsible for setting the standards for pre-hospital care in the United Kingdom.
The Guidelines sub-committee is chaired by Dr Simon Brown, and produces National clinical Guidelines for Paramedics ecvery two years. These are the only NHS recognised benchmarks for
paramedic care. They also produce a pocket book, which provides an easy source of reference for all paramedic drugs.
the guidelines are produced from
evidence based medicine , which is researched and discussed by a team including representatives from all UK ambulance services, and most medical disciplines. The research is led by three research fellows at the University of Warwick - Dr Joanne Fisher, Mike Smyth and Stephen Hines. The fourth version of the guidelines was published in April 2006.
