Non-Sabbatical Officer

Non-Sabbatical Officer

Non-Sabbatical Officer is a part-time elected official of a Students' union. Such a post is voluntary unpaid post undertaken by a current studying student in a University, as opposed to a Sabbatical officer who takes time away from studies or employment.

A Non-Sabbatical Officer usually has a portfolio fixed to his office, such as representing a campus or a liberation group. However some Students' Unions and the National Union of Students do have Non-Sabbatical Officer without portfolios; in such circumstances officers would pursue policies of interest to them without being tied to a specific area. Non-Sabbatical Officers are usually members of the Student Union Executive Committee.
