DCI Richard Whiteside (played by Michael Nardone) is a fictional character in the BBC Scotland soap, "River City".
He is the lead inspector in the Eddie Hunter's murder investigation. It has been made clear to Sgt. Harry Black that Whiteside did not agree with Eddie's lifestyle, and unlike most of his colleagues was not upset at the murder of a homosexual police officer.
