Due to the extraordinarly large number of candidates and lists (26 national lists, 428 provincial lists, 44 emigrant lists) the election was the most complex in Ecuador's history. [ [http://english.people.com.cn/90001/90777/6275310.html "Ecuadorans vote for Constituent Assembly"] , Xinhua ("People's Daily Online"), October 1, 2007.] However, the installation of the Assembly was delayed to 29 November 2007 [ [http://www.angus-reid.com/polls/view/28978/correas_approval_soars_after_vote_in_ecuador Correa’s Approval Soars After Vote in Ecuador: Angus Reid Global Monitor ] ] due to delays in the official proclamation of the final result.
Note that some of the provincial seats were won by coalitions of parties running separately on the national slate; due to different distributions of these joint Assembly members, reports on the number of seats won by each party may vary from source to source.
