Bobby Cuellar

Robert "Bobby" Cuellar (born August 20, 1952 in Alice, Texas) was a baseball player who played for a brief sting with the Texas Rangers in by|1977 as a relief pitcher. He is a graduate from the University of Texas. He has been involved as a player as well as pitching coach, bullpen coach, and sometimes minor league manager during his time in baseball. He is currently the Manager of the New Britain Rock Cats, Double-A Eastern League of the Minnesota Twins.

Playing career

He was selected by the Texas Rangers in the 29th Round (592th overall) of the 1974 amateur entry draft. Career in the Dugout

Due to also pitching winter ball during his career as a pitcher and the lack of pitch counts in the 1970s, he overused and eventually wore out his shoulder. Beginning in 1983, he worked in the Seattle Mariners' organization until 1994, except for 1986-1987 (when he was the manager of the Wausau Timbers). His resume includes:
