Halstead High School is a 3A secondary school serving grades 9-12 located in Halstead, Kansas, U.S.D. 440. The school primarily serves the towns of Halstead and Bentley, Kansas. The current principal is David Younger. The school colors are royal blue, with white and black commonly used as complementary colors.

Athletics

Halstead High School athletic teams compete as a 3A school under the Kansas State High School Activities Association. They are a part of the MCAA league, which is made up of Ellinwood High School, Marion High School, Sterling High School, Hillsboro High School, Haven High School, Hesston High School, Hoisington High School, Wichita Collegiate School, Lyons High School, Smoky Valley High School, and Nickerson High School. Haltead holds state championships in Boys basketball from 2001 and Golf in 1981.

Athletic programs are offered in baseball, men's or women's basketball, cross country, football, golf, softball, track and field, and volleyball.

Halstead has hosted annual athletic events including the Adolph Rupp Basketball Tournament since 1976, and the Conrad Nightingale Invitational Track Meet since 1971.

Clubs

The Halstead Debate team achieved a state championship in 2003. Artistic programs are offered in band, choir, or drama. Debate and forensics teams are also offered.
