GenderPAC

GenderPAC

GenderPAC (the Gender Public Advocacy Coalition) is a human rights organization based in Washington, DC working to the stated aim of ensuring classrooms, communities, and workplaces are safe places for every person to learn, grow, and succeed, whether or not they conform to expectations for masculinity or femininity. Founded in 1995 as a loose coalition of organizations, GenderPAC became incorporated in 1999, formed a Board of Directors, and received tax-exempt status as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.

GenderPAC also aims to promote understanding of the connection between discrimination based on gender stereotypes and gender, sexual orientation, age, race and class.

GenderPAC's major programs are Workplace Fairness, The GenderYOUTH Network, and the Children As They Are parenting network.

GenderPAC in popular culture

GenderPAC was featured on the Bravo television network in July 2006. The second annual Chicago Celebrity Cookoff was hosted by Kathy Griffin and shown on the finale of the second season of her show . GenderPAC's then Board of Directors Co-Chair Rachel Goldberg also presented an award to the parents of transman Miles on Queer Eye for the Straight Guy.
