(1995)"Dyslexicon" is the second and final album of the Philadelphia Grunge band, Dandelion
In the summer of 1995, after lead guitarist Bayen Butler left the band, Dandelion released "Dyslexicon". The band saw a massive improvement in the album in terms of production. Their sound also began to aim toward a more alternative influence, rather than the 'filthy' sound that they delivered in their previous album. A psychedelic influence is indeed more apparent on Dyslexicon, particularly in spacier songs like "Weird-Out" and "Tapped". Crisp production add-ons flesh out the sound, with laughing FX of a Halloween toy in "Super Cool", A jazzy, fast paced flute solo in "Viva Kneval", and the concentric waves of fuzz in "Melon From Heaven". The slight transformation of the bands sound took effect, possibly due to the wave of
post-grunge bands who were becoming increasingly popular during the mid 90's. This album was a solid release that showed a rapid growth in both song writing and playing ability. A group of young musicians in have formed a band named after this album. All of the players in the band, singer guitarist Cameron Hoffman, guitar player (Russell Chell, Brown Bear and a bass player (Luke Rinz), attend the PrincetonPaul Green School of Rock . This is probably done due the influence of Mike Morpurgo (Dandelion bassist) and Dante Cimino (Dandelion drummer), both of whom teach at the school. They have plans to release an album/EP. www.dyslexicon.netTrack listing
