Riverdale Baptist School is a Christian school located in in Upper Marlboro, Maryland. It serves students ranging in grade levels from Pre-K through 12th grade. It is located in one of the fastest growing counties in Maryland. Prince George's County encompasses anarea of approximately 498 square miles and has a population of more than 800,000. Prince George's County is one of contrasts with flourishing farms and many urban areas. The County is the gateway to our National Capital where there are numerous historical sites and many cultural events.

Riverdale Baptist School is a ministry of Riverdale Baptist Church. The school, established in 1971, enjoys an excellent reputation for preparing students academically, socially and spiritually. Enrollment for the past several years has been over 900 students in three year old prekindergarten through the twelfth grade. The school has a dual accreditation through Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools and the Association of Christian Schools International.

Riverdale Baptist high school program emphasizes a college preparatory curriculum with honors and advance placement courses offered to academically qualified students. Over 50% of the high school student body maintains a 3.0 GPA in an intensive academic program that includes developing solid Christian character. On average, 96% of our seniors are accepted into four yearcolleges and universities each year.

The middle school program emphasizes strong academics as well as an expanding Fine Arts program. The school day consists of a Bible class, four academic classes (math, history, science, English), physical education, and one elective.

The elementary program at Riverdale Baptist School emphasizes spiritual precepts, character building, and the skills and concepts necessary to academic advancement. These self-contained classrooms follow a carefully selected curriculum of learning in Bible, language skills, spelling, reading, math, handwriting, science and heritage studies.

The Preschool and Kindergarten programs emphasize a readiness and a hands-on approach to academic subjects with the curriculum presented from a Christian perspective. Each school level has a dedicated computer lab with a grade-appropriate software curriculum. The middle school and high school departments each have a science laboratory. Riverdale’s spacious campus includes a gymnasium with a weight room, athletic fields and enclosed elementary play areas.

Members of the faculty are all dedicated Christians who have a calling to minister in Christian Education. They have earned degrees from reputable Bible colleges, Christian colleges and universities from across the nation. They are active in Church activities and ministries. Throughout the school year, days are set aside for attending conventions, conferences and in-houseworkshops to enrich and provide teacher development.

Sports: Lost to Bel Air High School September 14, 2007 in overtime 12-6. This one was of the biggest upsets in recent school history.
