Sir Thomas de Dacre

Sir Thomas de Dacre, 8th Baron Multon of Gilsland or Thomas Dacre (1410 – 15 January 1448) was born in Brampton, Cumberland, England.

Thomas de Dacre's father was Thomas de Dacre, 6th Baron Dacre and his mother was Philippa de Neville. He married Elizabeth Bowet Baroness Clavering, daughter of Sir William Bowet of Horsford and Amy de Ufford. Elizabeth was born 1405 in Horsfordburgh, St. Margaret's, Norfolkshire, England.

From 1349 through 1350, the Melling area was disturbed by a private war between Sir Thomas de Dacre and Sir Robert de Nevill. Dacre went to Arkholme with several of his companions and assaulted Nevill's servant. Sir Robert assembled around thirty armed men at Hornby Castle, and for 6 months led them to do harm to de Dacre.
