Tamil Nadu , he is the son of veteran actor Dr. Sivaji Ganesan. He has an elder brother Ramkumar who is a director.Career
Prabhu has appeared in over 125 films. He is the first generation actor in Tamil cinema. After his debut in the film "Sangili" in 1982, he made several hit films during the '80s. Apart from taking the lead role, he has acted in several types of roles, including comedian roles and antagonistic roles. Prabhu frequently appeared alongside
Rajinikanth ,Kamal Hassan , and his father,Sivaji Ganesan during this time period. All of his movies alongside Rajinikanth like "Guru Sishyan ", and "Chandramukhi " were super hits except "Dharmathin Thalaivan ".He received a Best Actor Award in 1991. His film "Chinna Thambi" broke existing box office records in 1991. He also appeared in the multi-starrer and record-breaker film "
Suyamvaram ". After not having much fame during the late 80s and early noughts, he appeared alongsideRajinikanth in "Chandramukhi" in 2005 in which his role was admired by many fans.
