Carnival Films is a
British television production company, founded byBrian Eastman in1978 as Picture Partnership Productions Limited. The company swiftly built up a strong reputation as an independent production company. It has produced series such as "Jeeves and Wooster ", "Poirot", "BUGS", "Anna Lee", "As If " and "Traffik ". The company was also responsible forRichard Attenborough 's critically acclaimed feature film "Shadowlands " starringAnthony Hopkins . Its offices are now situated inLadbroke Grove , where it continues to produce less critically acclaimed but popular drama series such as "Hotel Babylon " (BBC One ) and "Rosemary & Thyme " (ITV ). In 2007 the company took over production of the supernatural drama series "Sea of Souls ", which had previously been an in-houseBBC Scotland production.In August 2008, Carnival was bought by
NBC Universal under its new strategy of moving productions outside America. The purchase marks NBC's first UK acquisition and includes Carnival's back catalogue.
