Sunlake High School is a public high school in Pasco County located in the Concord Station development in Land O' Lakes, Florida. It is adjacent to Charles S. Rushe Middle School, both of which opened in August 2007. Sunlake did not not open with a senior class and it relieved overcrowding at Land O' Lakes High School. By the 2008-2009 school year, Sunlake finally had a complete High School as it now contains all four classes (9th-12th grades). The first and current principal is Angela Stone. The school is organized into Learning Communities which are designed to enhance the curriculum and student performance by linking teaching and learning to broad career clusters. This “school within a school” concept establishes smaller groups of students and teachers providing more opportunities for better relationships among students, parents and teachers. This plan has been put into effect in all Pasco County High Schools. The school runs on a Modified Block Scheduling as classes are held on a traditional schedule on Mondays and Fridays, while on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, students have 80-minute blocks.

Athletics

In their inaugural season, the Seahawks were unable to win a single football game. On the first game of their second season, however, the Seahawks defeated River Ridge High School by a score of 19-10 to claim their first ever football victory on the warm night of September 5, 2008.

Sunlake's main athletic rival is the school that they were built to alleviate: Land O' Lakes High School. On Thursday, September 4, the Sunlake JV Football team defeated their new rivals, the Land O' Lakes Gators by a score of 21-20 in overtime. the jv program is now on a 4-0 victory, and is heading for 8-0. (shank was here) they got a win against the river ridge knights who were 3-0 (now 3-1) with a 22-14 win. while starters on both sides of the ball were injured, Corey Franklin, and Justin Schenck. corey twisted his ankle, while justin got a minor concussion, both are expected to play in the Pasco game at pasco on October 2nd.
