Future plans
In
2009 , Boon Lay MRT Station/Xchange will cease to be the western terminus for the East West Line. Construction works for the Boon Lay MRT Extension (BLE) began in the second half of2005 . The extension from Boon Lay MRT Station is 3.8 kilometre long and includes 2 stations, Pioneer and Joo Koon MRT Stations. The Boon Lay extension aims to provide more connectivity to residents of Jurong West and workers in the Industrial Area.
