Notable_instruments =Liar's Rosebush is a highly eclectic artist from Ottawa, Ontario. As the main project from Canadian electronic musician Matt Rosen, Liar's Rosebush has incorporated a wide range of stylistic elements over its eight year history. Early self-released material such as 2002's "november ep" drew directly from the rhythmic noise influences of imminent starvation and other ant-zen artists. These influences were central to Rosen's first label release, 2003's "None Higher" (Immanence UK), a CD-R album which combined the noise aesthetic with a hip-hop and drum'n'bass sensibility.
Subsequently, Liar's Rosebush has moved away from rhythmic-noise, incorporating more directly the influence of jungle, hip-hop, and jazz.
During that time, Rosen has not released a solo record, instead focusing on live performance and numerous collaborations. He has performed at The Rhode Island Noise Festival,
C.O.M.A. 3 & 4 festivals and Saturation Bombing 1 & 2 festivals as well as many other events. At Saturation Bombing 2, Liar's Rosebush performed with [Scrap.edx|Scrape [dx] . This live collaboration led to them work together, releasing "collect : erase" onHive Records and a limited edition release "nonsense", released at theC.O.M.A. 4 festival. In 2007, Liar's Rosebush released its first solo record in four years, "circle the squares" on
Hive Records .Discography
