UK basedSri Lanka n actor born in Kandy,Sri Lanka . He started acting over 30 years ago in India where he appeared in 7 films. He also produced and directed the 8th one. From India he then moved on to Africa where he made documentaries for a while. In the UK, Albert has been involved in several diverse projects, some of which were filmed around the globe. Arguably, his most famous role was that of Ranjeet Singh, a Sikh from Punjab, India, in the hit ITV series,Mind Your Language , in the late 1970s to the 80s. As with the rest of the characters in the series, led byBarry Evans , his role would now be considered racially and ethnically stereotypic, including his enmity with a Pakistani Muslim, played byDino Shafeek .Albert has played many minor roles in film, television and theatrical productions with many actors including: Kirk Douglas, Oliver Reed, Sir John Gielgud, Roger Moore, Michael Caine, Sean Connery, Charles Dance, Kenneth Williams, Benny Hill, Tim Piggott Smith, Pamela Stevenson, Diana Rigg and many others.
