Olvoband

OLVO-Band is the short name for Koninklijk Jeugdmuziekkorps Onze-Lieve-Vrouwecollege Oostende (Royal Youth Band College of Our Lady Ostend). It is a Belgian marching band which adheres to a Catholic secondary school in Ostend.

In 1909, the first "La musique du College" was founded, but the two World Wars ended that band. In 1954, the band started again and under the direction of Marcel Moerman, it flourished from 1955 until 1989, with numerous concerts in Belgium and abroad. In 2004, the band celebrated their 50th anniversary and received the title "Koninklijk" ("Royal").

* OLVOband has participated 37 times in the Ypres' Kattenstoet, which is an absolute record. The Kattenstoet was only held 41 times. [The 41st edition of the Kattenstoet was held in 2006.]
* OLVOband played for King Boudewijn of Belgium in 1976 and for Prince Philippe and Princess Mathilde in 2000.
