1981 CART World Series season

The 1981 CART PPG Indy Car World Series season was the third CART World Series. It began on March 22, 1981 and it ended on October 31 after 11 races. For the 1981 season, the Indianapolis 500 was not held as part of the CART series, even though most CART teams and drivers did compete at the Brickyard.
