CYSTHS is a bone scan image pixel RGB quantification based bone scan uptake software program. CYSTHS automates the process of locating hot spots in a bone scan image. The source code for CYSTHS is closed and under copyright. CYSTHS began its software development cycle in 2005 and reached its general availability release in 2007. CYSTHS is the first software program available to medical offices that allows for the automation of cancer detection in a bone scan image as well as the creation of a universal problem area severity value.

CYSTHS was created by Julia Silva and Alan Hshieh. Alan Hshieh is the main programmer of the CYSTHS code. CYSTHS is still actively developed and maintained by Julia Silva and Alan Hshieh. The software is not available to the general public, but is disseminated upon the request of radiology offices. The source code and concept of the CYSTHS program are copyrighted by both of the program's authors.

Features

Some of CYSTHS' functions include:

*Computer-aided manual analysis of a bone scan image in which cancer severity is outputted to the user.
*Automatic analysis of a bone scan that locates potentially cancerous areas, marks them, and outputs severities to the user.
*Automatic and manual analysis result output for conferencing with a patient.
*Generation of a 3D patient skeletal model, using posterior and anterior bone scans.
*Supported bone scan image file types include: JPG, BMP, and GIF.
*Generation of a universal severity level numeric value "JAM" for use in discussion with affiliate medical offices or patients.

Alternate versions

*CYSTHS Touch!: Version adding tablet PC specific functionality to the CYSTHS program.
*CYSTHS Everywhere: Minimalist version of the CYSTHS software for execution on low end systems.
*CYSTHS Mobile: Version allowing the execution of the CYSTHS program on a PDA, cell phone, or other Java compatible hand-held system.
