Moravian-Silesian Region of theCzech Republic . The first written record about this village was found in the year of1411 . The village was formerly known as Rybnik ( _de. Reimlich). Rybi is located about 5km to the east ofNový Jičín city and about 6km to the west ofKopřivnice . The village is geographically surrounded by three hills - from the south side by the 'Puntík' (with its top at 500mAMSL ) and the 'Holivák' hill (483m) and from the north by the 'Libhošťská hůrka' (with altitude 493m). In the year of 2007 the village has had around 1,100 inhabitants.Leisure activities
Due to great geographical location of the village with its surrounding hills and many forests, the Rybi is, especially in the summer, very suitable for
hiking ormountain-biking . There are lots of adjusted pathways and bike paths around the entire village. The adjacent forests are full of routes and tracks created by people, caused bylogging ornatural gas mining. Very popular sport in winter time isskiing . The village has two platterski lifts , one 200m and second 450m long. With so many straight and large meadows located on the top of the hills the place is also suitable forcross-country skiing .Lodging

The connection from and to nearly cities
Nový Jičín andKopřivnice is provided by local bus transport. The buses are going almost every hour during the week-time and about every two or three hours on the weekends. From theNový Jičín city you can easily find a bus or train connection to big Czech cities such asPraha ( _en. Prague),Ostrava orBrno .
