- Hanumanthana gudda
Hanumanthana Gudda literally meants Hill of Lord Hanuman. It is located in Hanumanth nagar (next to basavanagudi) locality of Bangalore,India.
The newly built residential layout adjoining the hill was rightly named "Hanumanth nagar".Late. Shri.Kengal Hanumanthiah, earlier Chief Minister of Karnataka was one of the patrons of this temple.
On top of this rocky hill, the summit has been flattened. A temple dedicated to Lord Hanuman has been built here. The temple has a spacious hall with Idol of Lord Hanuman.
The slopes of the hill has numerous tress and bushy plants. Gardens are also present at back side of the hill, where the slope is not too steep.
Two walk ways with stairs are available to reach the top of the hill. They are paved with granite slabs and maintained well. There is also a road to reach the top of the summit.
On the top of the temple, there are giant statues of Lord Hanuman and Lord Rama hugging each other. Lord Hanuman and Lord Rama in joy hugged each other after the conquest of Lanka. This gigantic statue depicts this hug and is a symbol of dedication and loyalty Lord Hanuman showed towards Lord Rama.
This temple is frequented by devotees. Lot of yong children flock the hill to play on its slopes. On a sunny day, it provides a good view of Bangalore city.
