When Lavrov was 19 he became a head of the election campaign of Umar Dzhabrailov who was a presidential candidate for the Russian Federation.

Lavrov is married to a Russian-Dominican model Lourdes B. Espinal de Lavrov and has one son.Fact|date=July 2008

His mother, Natalia Lavrova is a Russian of Jewish origin who is a grand daughter of a high-ranked communist official of the Soviet Union and daughter of a soviet deputy.

His father, Sergey Lavrov is also a Russian of a Jewish origin, who was adopted by a Russian that gave a Russian last name to Egor's family who's original last name was Kontarovich. Kontarovich family from St. Petersburg was a rich family of jewelers.

Currently Egor Lavrov lives in the Dominican Republic, while also operates businesses in Miami, Florida, United States; Guayaquil, Ecuador; Caracas, Venezuela; Madrid, Spain; Panama City, Panama; San Juan, Puerto Rico; Pétionville, Haiti; and Lima, Peru.
