- Slītere National Park
Slītere National Park (Latvian: "Slīteres nacionālais parks") is a
national park inTalsi district ,Kurzeme region inLatvia . It was established in2000 , when former Slītere Nature Reserve was expanded. It covers an area of 264.9 km² (including 101.3 km² in theBaltic Sea ).Slītere National Park is famous for the broadleaf
forests covering former coastline of theBaltic ice lake and the unique complex of dunes (called "kangari" in Latvian) and depressions ("vigas") featuring inter-dunebogs .Slītere contains also a large part of a cultural historic protected territory Līvõd Rãnda - the Livonian Coast, with Livonian villages.
