SMS "Undine" was an
Imperial German light cruiser of the "Gazelle" Class, 105 meters long and was built inKiel in 1902. "Undine" was used in theNaval warfare of World War I and was part of the GermanHigh Seas Fleet ."Undine's" job was to protect transport of
iron ore betweenSweden andGermany . Both Russians and the English were annoyed by the exchange between the two countries. The British sent a submarine flotilla to theBaltic sea to stop the trade.On November 7, 1915, Undine was on patrol in the
Baltic Sea with two otherdestroyers when she was brought up by the English submarineHMS E19 which was able to sink her using twotorpedoes . It now lies on the bottom of theBaltic sea 20Nautical miles (40 km) south ofScania ,Sweden .References
