Batting at 11, he fell LBW to Tommy Mitchell for 3 and his only success with the ball came when he dismissedStan Worthington , caught byFrank Dennis , for 6. He finished with a career bowling average of 30.He appeared for Yorkshire Second XI from 1928 to 1930.
