John Early

John Early

John Early (d. 1883) was a Methodist prelate and one of the founders of the Methodist Episcopal Church, South.

He was born in Bedford County, Virginia. He became a founder and one of the members of the board of Randolph Macon College. He was one of the founders of the Methodist Episcopal Church, South, and served as one of its bishops from 1854 through 1866. He died in 1883.
