Moondru Mugam (Tamil: மூன்று முகம், English: Three Faces) is Tamil feature film starring Rajinikanth doing a triple role.

Plot

Arun (Rajnikanth) comes back from America after 10 years as a saint. His father (Thengai Srinivasan)does not want his son to be like that so he gets press reporter (Radhika Sarathkumar) to change him back to a normal person like everyone else. Firstly she takes him out to the temple but pretends the car has broken down so she tells him to walk there. While he is walking she sends a child crying. Arun picks it up not knowing it is a setup. He gives the child a chocolate, then another boy comes and shouts its the person who steals children then all the other children round Arun up. Then Arun manages to escape. Radika does this so she can cut off his beard which he grows when he is in America. After some time he changes to normal.

After Arun goes to work and finds out that his father is sending money to someone for more than twenty years.

Later a man asks a lady that someone has prosposed to her nephew (Rajnikanth in his second role as John) He asks her that the brides parents want to know who John's parents are. She tells him that her that John was none other than Alex Pandian (Rajnikanth in his third role).

A flashback ensues that explains Alex Pandian's story.

Alex Pandian was a police officer. He does not like corrupt people. One day he arrests some guys who are selling illegal drinks. Then the boss of this gang tells Alex Pandian to release them from the cell. But Alex Pandian refuses. Then they come out illegally and kill Alex Pandian. At his dying moment Alex Pandian says he will be born again to kill them.

When Alex Pandian dies so does his wife after giving birth to twins. The first child is born to be Arun and the second child John. Meanwhile thengai srinivasan's wife gives birth but the child dies which is third time in a row. So the sister of Alex Pandian gives the child who is later named Arun, to Thengai Srinivasan because she can not afford to look after two children.

Arun on his 25th birthday party suddenly says he the reincarnation of Alex Pandian, which shocks everyone at the occasion. Meanwhile when he goes to a house because smitha called him. Then he fights a person and kills him. Arun goes to jail. Later he comes to court and see who killed him and tries to kill him but goes back to jail. The he comes back to tell the truth when Alex Pandian comes and says he is not dead and that he was in Sri Lanka. But really he is Arun's brother John but John does not know that. He is working with the person who killed his father.

Then Arun says he lied that he was an incarnation because he wanted to know who the enemies are because they will want to kill him. So he can get them back.

Later in the story John finds who Alex Pandian is and who Arun is and goes to save his brother. Then they fight but the bad person stabs John but johns kills the man and put him in the sea like what he did to his father and he also dies. Arun and Radhika get together and then the film ends.

This Movie remade in hindi titled John Jani Janardhan starring Rajnikant, Rati Agnihotri & Kader Khan.
