Samuel Ellis

Samuel Ellis was a first class cricketer who played for an England XI against 'The Players of the North' in 1878 and in 2 matches for Yorkshire County Cricket Club in 1880 against the touring Australians and Derbyshire CCC.

A right handed batsman he scored just 16 runs, with a best of 9, for an average of 3.2.

He was born on November 23, 1851 in Dewsbury, Yorkshire and died on October 28, 1930 in Milnthorpe House, Sandal Magna, Wakefield.
