Eddie (or Edward) Sansbury is an Australian rules football player, currently a midfielder for the Kangaroos Football Club in the Australian Football League.

He was a mature draft pick in 2003 when he went to the Kangaroos as a third round selection at pick 40. Before his AFL début he played for the Central District Bulldogs in the South Australian National Football League. Sansbury played his best AFL game to date in North Melbourne's 17 point loss to West Coast in Round 19 of the 2007 Season. Sansbury collected 18 possessions and kicked a goal playing in his new attacking manner that has won him acclaim, with his career being in jeopardy previously after a string of poor defensive performances in the AFL.

In Round 22 of 2007, Sansbury kicked 5 goals in the 64 point win over the Western Bulldogs. He has had his best season in Kangaroo colours to date, and will be a permanent fixture in the finals series you would think.

Family

Sansbury is the cousin of Sydney's Michael O'Loughlin and Kangaroo team-mate Daniel Wells.

Playing Style

Eddie has played 33 games for North Melbourne in the AFL. He is currently a regular member of North Melbourne's 22, with his natural skill and flair adding a lot to the attacking side of North Melbourne's game.
