Gale Reed Gilbert (born December 20, 1961 in Red Bluff, California) is a former American football quarterback who played eight seasons in the NFL for the Seattle Seahawks, Buffalo Bills, and the San Diego Chargers.

Gilbert is the only player in NFL history to be a member of five straight Super Bowl teams. Gilbert was a member of the Bills who played in four straight Super Bowls (XXV through XXVIII) and of the Chargers who played in Super Bowl XXIX. Gilbert was on the losing team in all five Super Bowl games.

In the famous game featuring "The Play" between the University of California Golden Bears and the Stanford University Cardinals, Gale Gilbert was a sophomore and the starting quarterback for the University of California.

As a youth, Gilbert played catcher for Red Bluff Little League in the 1974 Little League World Series and lost in final game to Taiwan 12-1.

His son, Garrett Gilbert, is currently playing quarterback at Lake Travis High School in Austin, Texas.
