The Yugoslav Lexicographical Institute (Croatian/Serbian: "Jugoslavenski leksikografski zavod", JLZ) was the national lexicographical institute of the
Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia .History
The institute was founded in 1950 as the Lexicographical Institute of the Federal People's Republic of Yugoslavia ("Leksikografski zavod FNRJ") and was renamed as the Yugoslav Lexicographical Institute ("Jugoslavenski leksikografski zavod") in 1964. Its longtime director was
Miroslav Krleža , withMate Ujević as the chief editor. It was situated inZagreb , with branches inLjubljana andBelgrade .After Krleža's death in 1981, the instute was renamed as the Yugoslav Lexicographical Institute "Miroslav Krleža" ("Jugoslavenski leksikografski zavod "Miroslav Krleža").
Following the
breakup of Yugoslavia , it was renamed as theMiroslav Krleža Lexicographical Institute ("Leksikografski zavod "Miroslav Krleža") in 1991, which became the national lexicographical institute ofCroatia .Publications
