Corvo Island , the smallest of the 9 islands of the Portuguese autonomous region ofAzores . It is the least populated of the Portuguese municipalities, with only 425 inhabitants. The municipality includes the entire portion of the island of Corvo, therefore being entirely surrounded by theAtlantic Ocean . The island is connected via airplane to the other Azores islands.Generally, the inhabitants dedicate themselves to fishing, agriculture, or raising cattle. The island has an airport, a fire station, a school, as well as hotels for tourists. The nearest municipality is in
Santa Cruz das Flores on Flores Island.Parishes
Corvo is the only Portuguese municipality with no parishes.There are almost no trees on the island. A small airport is at the southern edge of the island.
