- Stefano Maria Legnani
Stefano Maria Legnani (1660 - 1715), also known as "Legnanino", was an Italian painter of the
Baroque period, active mainly inMilan . He was a pupil of his father, the painterAmbrogio Legnani . He then went on to work in the studio ofCarlo Cignani inBologna , andCarlo Maratta inRome . InNovara , he painted the cupola of "San Gaudenzio". In Milan, he painted frescoes of the life of St James at the church of Sant'Angelo.He also painted in Turin and Genoa. He died in Bologna.
