Loongana, Western Australia

Loongana is a remote siding on the transcontinental railway line in the Australian state of Western Australia. The area was formerly the site of a lime mine and processing plant. The Indian Pacific train, run by Great Southern Railways, still stops here on request twice a week.

Longest Straight

The longest dead straight track extends from west of Loongana to west of Ooldea in the east, a distance of 478km.
