Harbor-UCLA Medical Center is a hospital located within the city of Torrance, California, USA. The hospital was founded in 1946, and is funded by Los Angeles County.

Harbor-UCLA serves as the Level I Trauma Center for the South Bay area.

In the 1970s, Harbor-UCLA portrayed "Rampart General Hospital" in the popular TV series "Emergency!".

History

Started as an Army medical facility for the Pacific front during World War II, the County of Los Angeles acquired the facility at the end of the war. The present building was constructed in 1962 to replace some of the barracks and cottages that were used to house the hospital. UCLA School of Medicine began its affiliation in 1951 and the School of Dentistry followed in 1971.It also was Rampart General is the 70's hit TV show "Emergency!"
