River Ridge Middle School is located in New Port Richey, Pasco County, Florida. It is located in the same complex as River Ridge High School. Both schools have their own classrooms and media center and share the cafeteria, theater, athletic facilities, and administrative offices. Its grades are from 6th to 8th grade, and also includes the gifted program. The principal is Jason Joens and Nancy Guss and Margie Fackelman are the assistant principals. The school opened in 1991 and is educating approximately over 2.000 students. In its athletic departments the school has Football, Soccer, Basketball, and Track, it also has several academic teams.

RO Controversy

On October 8th, 2008, Distinguished and honorable, School Resource Officer, Chris Magavero, was fired from River Ridge Middle School, after calling aside a 13 year old female student from class, and telling her, "I feel like I am falling in love with you". Immediately afterwards, the distraught student went to her guidance counselor, and told her the issue at hand. The Pasco County Sherriffs office was called, and led Sherriff Bob White to relieving Magavero of his duties.
