30 Years War were a four-piece post-hardcore/prog-rock band from Mukilteo, Washington. The band consisted of Thomas Erak (lead vocals, guitar), Mike Munro (guitar), Timothy Ward (bass, backup vocals), and Andrew Forsman, (drums).

In early senior year of high school, Thomas and Mike's band Matt Down's Quartet, which had been together since late freshman year, broke up. The two formed a 4-piece with Tim and Andrew and called themselves 30 Years War. The band came up with the name by flipping through a history textbook until they found something suitable (The Fall of Troy would later also use this technique to find a name.)

The band broke up when Mike Munro left, claiming he had too much commitment to school that he could not continue to work with the band. The remaining three would later form The Fall of Troy.

The band released two EP's, Martyrs Among the Casualties and Live at the Paradox.
