Gaur, Nepal

Gaur is a town in the Rautahat district, a part of Narayani zone, in Nepal. Gaur is close to the border with India.

On March 21 2007, supporters of the Madhesi People's Rights Forum (MPRF), killed 29 people, mostly Maoists, near the town. The victims were raped, burnt, beaten and evidently speared to death. Transport

While a UN Map shows Gaur as being served by a railway, the Falling Rain Map shows this railway on the southern side of the border with India.
