Nate Cornejo was drafted in the first round of the 1998 MLB draft by the Detroit Tigers, number 34 overall.[1] Prior to being called up the Tigers, Cornejo was considered to be the Tigers best prospect and was among the top 100 prospects in baseball.[2] Cornejo played for the Detroit Tigers until 2006 when he was signed by the Chicago White Sox. Cornejo pitched four games in the minors before officially retiring on July 2, 2006. He is the son of reliever Mardie Cornejo.
