- Anthony Iannaccone
Anthony Iannaccone (born 1943 in
Brooklyn, New York ) is acomposer and conductor. His music has been performed by majororchestra s and chamber ensembles, and he has conducted numerous regional and metropolitan orchestras in the United States and in Europe. He is a conductor and professor atEastern Michigan University .He has studied with
Aaron Copland (1959–1964); withDavid Diamond ,Vittorio Giannini , andLudmila Ulehla at theManhattan School of Music , from which he earned a master's degree (1961–1968); and withSamuel Adler at theEastman School of Music , from which he earned his doctoral degree (1968–1971). He has taught composition atEastern Michigan University since 1971, where he founded anelectronic music studio, and has conducted the ensembleCollegium Musicum there since 1973.He won first prize from the
National Band Association in 1988 for "Apparitions" and won theSAT/C.F. Peters Competition in 1990 for "Two-Piano Inventions".Works
