MD² International

MD2 (pronounced "MD Squared") is largely credited for pioneering a style of healthcare that would later be called “concierge medicine.” Founded in 1996 in Seattle by Dr. Howard Maron, former Seattle Supersonics physician, and Dr. Scott Hall, MD2 provides individual medical care that includes giving patients immediate access to their personal physician at all times. [“The Highly Attentive Approach,” "Worth" magazine, July 2005.]

While many medical practitioners see upwards of three to four thousand patients per year, physicians with MD2 care for just 50 families. All five offices across the country offer a private entrance, no waiting room, and two physicians, each with more than 20 years of experience and reputations as the most distinguished leaders in the medical community and city in which they live.

The business began after Dr. Maron, who was then with the Seattle Supersonics, wondered why people who were not star athletes could not have a personal physician. MD2 provides the personal care Dr. Maron imagined and gears it toward busy executives, who prefer preventative care, service, and confidentiality.

A privately-owned business, MD2 has offices in Seattle and Bellevue, Washington; Portland, Oregon; San Francisco; and Chicago; with plans to expand to other major cities. [“Boutique Medicine: When wealth buys health,” CNN.com, October 19th, 2006.]
