The Hochschule Liechtenstein is one of the two centres for higher education in the
principality ofLiechtenstein .History
It was founded in
1967 mainly for the teaching of economics and as an evening technical school which later evolved into the Liechtenstein School of Engineering.In
1992 the establishment was formally recognised as aProfessional school .In
2005 the school became a university by law. This included further extensions of the school and research programs (PhD ) with other universities. The demand for a university comes from the highly specialized Small-and Medium Enteprises and the finance industry in this area.The university offers also
Bachelors andMasters degrees according to theBologna process .In
2008 the university become the right to confer the Doctorate/PhD. Those degrees are recognized by the European Union, too.Overview
Currently the university has around 1,000 students.
The university currently offers an extensive Architecture Program in the Form of a Bachelor & Master of Science in Architecture Degree. Another focus are the programs in business administration and information systems, in particular for the finance industry.
There are four main research institutes:
