South Kerry Senior Football Championship

The South Kerry Senior Football Championship is a Gaelic football competition between clubs affiliated to the South Kerry division. When a Divisional team like South Kerry win the Kerry Senior Football Championship, the winners of the Divisional championship chose the Kerry Senior Football team captain.The Jack Murphy cup is the prize for the winners. Prior to this to was the Bailey cup and before that the O'Mahony Cup. The Jack Murphy cup was first presented to the winners of the South Kerry Senior Championship winners in 1974 when Renard/Foilmore defeated Valentia 2.04 -1.03. The first of many captains to receive it was Jo Jo O'Sullivan. It has since become the holy grail of South Kerry football as all clubs crave to win it.

* 1935 No Championship due to Kerry GAA withdrawal due to the treatment of Irish Republican Army prisoners in the Curragh camp Kildare
