Helen M. Grace

Helen M. Grace (born 10 September 1974 in Cardiff) is a Welsh film director and screenwriter. She is better known as Helen Grace.

Background

Helen graduated in Law at Cambridge University before training in film directing and screenwriting.

Film career

She wrote and directed short film A Day Out in the summer of 2000, commissioned by the Arts Council of Wales. As part of the Screen Gems scheme for HTV, she wrote and directed the short film Pleasure Pill in 2002. Her third short film Winner Takes All, which she directed and co-wrote with JC Mac and Chico Slimani, was nominated for a BAFTA Cymru Best Short film award in 2005, and was screened at more than 30 international film festivals worldwide.

Her last project was directing and co-writing the British rom-com Are You Ready For Love? her first ever feature film which was directed for the UK's Carnaby Films. This film won awards at the Monaco International Film Festival and Cardiff Film Festival, and is being sold by Carnaby International.
