Bridge Life Cycle Cost Analysis

Bridge Life Cycle Cost Analysis

Bridge Life-Cycle Cost Analysis (BLCCA), which is focus on the analysis ofindividual bridges, typically designates a planning or time horizon as theperiod of time over which all costs are to be estimated.

Transportation officials consider life-cycle cost analysis an importanttechniques for assisting with investment decisions.

The calculation of life-cycle costs depends on the choice of a distinct timeperiod (planning time horizon) over which operations and maintenance costsare accrued, discounted (NPV), and compared with cost of capital.
