John Roberts (Flint MP)

John Roberts (Flint MP)

John Roberts (1835 – 24 February 1894), was a Welsh Member of Parliament.

Roberts was the son of David Roberts. His father was born in Llanrwst, Wales, but moved to Liverpool at an early age, where he built up a successful timber business. He later settled in Abergele. Roberts constructed the mansion of Bryngwenallt in Abergele and also represented Flint in the House of Commons from 1878 to 1892. He died in February 1894. His son John became a Liberal politician and was created Baron Clwyd in 1919.
