Baby Alive

Baby Alive is a baby doll made by Hasbro that eats, drinks and wets. Its mouth moves and it is supposed to be life like. The original was made by Kenner and was first introduced in 1973. Baby Alive was reintroduced in 2006 by Hasbro. Today, Baby Alive is offered as a Caucasian baby; an African-American baby, or a Hispanic baby. BABY ALIVE Wets & Wiggles (which can come in either male or female dolls) and BABY ALIVE Sip 'N Slurp. Sip N Snooze, Pat N Burp, Baby alive lerans to potty and baby go bye-bye are the newest versions of Baby Alive Dolls.

Baby Alive 1970s/1980s

This was the first "Baby Alive" produced and she is fed by food packets mixed with water. She also comes with a bottle and diapers and feeding spoon. First, the spoon is inserted in her mouth and then you push a lever on her back to have her chew the food and then the food moves through her and ends up in her diaper, these versions did not speak so you had to check the diaper a few moments after feeding. However the 1970s version had automatic chewing, consumers complained it kept breaking.

Baby Alive 1990s

In 1992 the first "talking" baby alive was produced and just like the others she was fed and given a bottle in the same manner, but instead of a lever she swallows automatically and "goes potty" instead of using a diaper. There are sensors located in inside of the doll that detects what stage the food is at and triggers her voice to say "I have to go potty" and "All done now". These dolls did not sell often due to the loud gear noises and her "deep adult voice". It was later discontinued and a new non-speaking baby was released in 1995 which had snacks and juice boxes for her, she did not speak but chewed automatically.

All come in either caucasian, african american, or hispanic skin tones.

Baby Alive-

After Hasbro took over Kenner, hasbro redesigned Baby Alive and then in 2006 a new version was released it speaks and was more realistic. She also had more accsessories sold separately for her. She "eats" from her spoon and "Drinks" from her bottle and really "Poops".

Sip 'N Slurp-A baby which when her tummy is squeezed she "drinks" from her juice cup with a straw attached and "wets" her diaper. She also came in either caucasian, african american, or hispanic skin tones.Sip n Slurp birthday doll released in 2008 is the same principle as sip n' slurp, but her birthday can be celebrated everyday because she can "blow" on her party blower and "blow" out a candle on her cupcake she has a cup with attached straw just like the sip n slurp.

Wets 'N Wiggles-This doll comes in either a girl or a boy and is given juice and lets you know its wet by crying and wiggling and when diaper is opened it may suprise you-so watch out.

Pat 'N Burp-A newborn baby that "drinks" from her bottle and when pat or squeezed, she "burps". She can come in numerous skin and eye colors.

Sip 'N Snooze-A baby that gets "sleepy" as you feed her a bottle and gets snuggled when she falls asleap. She can come in blonde or brunette hair colors.

Baby Alive learns to potty-A new version where the baby gets fed and is given a bottle and tells you when she has to go potty, but she has a diaper just in case and says she "oops! I had an accident"

Baby Alive go Bye-Bye-A doll that is designed for travel by having a papoose and baby carrier in one unit.
